Bridgend Sports 24 vs Llanwit Major 7

The opening match of the season Sports travelled to Llanwit Major.  Now is the time to see whether our pre season training will pay dividends.  The Sports started strongly carrying on from where they left last season by looking to spread the ball wide at every opportunity.  Sports opened the scoring after pressurising Llanwits try line when some quick passing allowed Cullen to cross the line.  Converted by Owain.  Although the Sports continued o put pressure on Llanwit they couldn’t quite finish a couple of opportunities.  Llanwit equalised and only a strong defensive effort prevented them from scoring again.  The sides went in all equal at the end of the first half.  Straight from kick off Sports put real pressure on Llanwit, they were quickly rewarded when Cullen crossed for a second try.  Sports continued the keep the pressure on Llanwit and even when they didn’t have possession their strong defence penned Llanwit back in their own half.  A sharp steal from a ruck and a quick ball allowed Josh to score Sports third try.  Sports sealed the win when again they spread the ball wide, quick hands and quick passes got the ball to Zac on the wing who was able to outstrip the cover defence to score.  Converted by Ethan.  A great start to the season well done boys.
