Bridgend Sports 21 vs Kenfig Hill 21

For the second week on the trot Bridgend Sports welcomed Kenfig Hill to the Bandstand.  Sports kicked off and immediately put pressure on kenfig Hill which led to a turnover.  Continued pressure led to Sports scoring first when Cullen forced his way over the line.  Converted by Owain.  Kenfig Hill fought back with a converted try.  Although Sports dominated the first 12 minutes they were unable to capitalise on their possession.  In the last few minutes before half time, Kenfig Hill struck again to take the lead 14-7.  Sports had tried to play their quick offloading game in the first half but Kenfig Hill had been able to disrupt this putting pressure on the back line.  In the second half Sports changed their tactics and looked to create an off side line by going to ground when tackled and recycling the ball.  In a fiercely competitive game the Sports put Zac into some space and he was able to cross and score.  Converted by Evan.  Sports continued to put pressure in the Kenfig 22 forcing a loose kick which was caught by Ollie who out paced the cover defence to take Sports ahead.  Converted by Josh.   With five minutes to go the Sports showed a lapse in concentration when they allowed a Kenfig Hill player to run through them and score to equalise the game.  Although there were further opportunities to go ahead, Sports finished the game under pressure on their try line.  The boys showed commitment in defence making up for their earlier defensive lapse to hold Kenfig Hill out.  The game ended with honours even in a hard fought draw.   The boys and coaches wish a speedy recovery to Domi.
